Hawzah News Agency-Imam Hussain (AS) had allowed his companions if they want to part ways with him, they may do so but they reiterated their unwavering loyalty and support to him at the night before Ashura and they all continued offering prayers, praying and reciting from the Holy Quran.
According to the Islamic lunar calendar, Muslims of many countries observe religious rituals of particular and sacred day on different dates because the dates of any month of Islamic calendar depend on moon-sighting but this year many countries have identical dates of Ashura that is on Wednesday October 12.
Ashura falls on same day in Iraq where the holy shrine of Imam Hussain (AS) and other martyrs of Karbala are housed, in Iran that is a Shia Islamic state and Pakistan that has a sizeable population of Shiites between 40 and 50 million.
Shia Muslims offer special recommended prayers and ziyarat-e-ashura at Shab-e-Ashur (night before Ashura). Alongside it, night long mourning processions continue across the world where mourners also known as Azadar beat their chests and raise the slogans of Ya Hussain (AS). They also recite eulogies to pay homage to Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions at Karbala.
In Pakistan too, processions continued throughout the Shab-e-Ashur and millions of people participate in these rituals.
